We begin this article with a heartfelt prayer that the true meaning of Christmas guides the heart and household of every American this Christmas Eve.
Christmas is more than the taking up of an ancient pagan holiday of Saturnalia (or, Natalis Solis Invicti) with its gifts and feasting and revelries in this material world. Christmas holds the promise of spiritual birth…which is, after everything is reduced, the only true guide star in mortality. That is called salvation; that is the meaning of Christmas.
Our comments must be qualified. Let us celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, while we are still at liberty to do so. For the times they are a’ changing.
On 30 October 2008, five days before the election which flushed him into office, Barrack Hussein Obama threatened that he would be “fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” His wife Michelle said it more bluntly, in May of 2008…“we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.” As far as we can tell, the pair has made good on their threats.
The tradition of Christmas, indeed Christianity itself, is under their assault. Apparently, it is to be changed, altered, revised, over-ridden by an avant-garde personality cult. Christmas has no place in Herod’s Brave New World. Too soon, we realize, following Christmas comes the spiritless void of greed for earthly power…this Massacre of the Innocents. Herod would have snuffed out Christmas newborn had he been able.
Obama is much like Herod—vainglorious, and “prepared to commit any crime, in order to gratify his unbounded ambition.” [1906 Jewish Encyclopedia]. America too is much like Rachel, foretold by the prophet Jeremiah, weeping for her children. They are no more.
Last year we were told that America’s troops and veterans have been reduced to food stamps—some 900,000 veterans from the news accounts. The Scrooge strangled “generosity” of Mr. and Mrs. Obama has clearly driven America into a different place as a nation…one greatly reduced, one submissive to imperial presidencies. I, Obama…
We were also told that even the word “Christmas” is now to be stricken from the U.S. Army. At Camp Shelby, Mississippi for example, US Army political commissars from a so-called Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI)—which is too close to “demon” to pass without notice—declared that the term Christmas must be replaced with “holiday”. A burlesque imitating Marxist-Leninist society. Political commissars (i.e. word police) informally lead such a state…one of constant surveillance, one of non-stop “re-education,” one that ever and always leads to that “different place” of totalitarianism.
Despite plausible denial being constantly mouthed by Herod Obama, his transformed America is now becoming bereft of tradition. It is being emptied of its heritage. This state is exactly what he seeks to build, Herod-like, as his legacy. Obama still has plans to fill it with something very “different”…to transform.
Our friend Mr. Todd Starnes of Fox News reported one soldier spoke on condition of anonymity, perhaps due to a fear which pervades our military over incurring retributions from the Herod-in-Chief: “Between the Air Force and the Army – it’s like they don’t like Christian values, they don’t like the word Christ or Christmas.”
“They’re treating Christmas like it’s pornography. As a matter of fact, the Army actually treats pornography better than it does Christmas,” Todd Starnes reported. That is indeed a very different place.
Much like Xi Jinping, party chief and president of the Communist Party of China, there will be, under Herod, a transformed America; one with a “tightly monitored state media”. It is an America which promotes only “core socialist values.” Sadly, in such a state, the true meaning of Christmas–its innocence–is a threat; it therefore must be exterminated.
Over the next two years in the death throes of Obama’s imperial reign, we anticipate that the fundamental transformation of America will quicken its pace….indeed the recent capitulation to communist Cuba indicates as much. Mr. Obama’s transformed America will mirror, in all probability, the final days of Herod. It will be filled with all manner of petty vengeance, despotic cruelty and mockery of those who “cling” to their Bibles. Like Herod, Obama intends to rid the land of any and all contenders against his legacy. He will do so at whatever costs to the innocent newly born, or those yet to be.
Even so, even so. There is love, the undiminished brilliance of Christmas’ promise…of salvation beyond our mortal existence. That is not something that Herod Obama has within his power to offer; he cannot use it as a bribe; it is not a currency he is capable of accumulating; or spending. Because of that, because it is beyond his ambitious personal grasp, Christmas is therefore something that he despises viscerally.
Yet there is a time for every purpose under Heaven. All Herod the Greats shall meet mortal fate. A thousand more deluded Herods, should they come, or a million more just like Obama, will each discover at the edge of eternity–when they meet it–that unbounded ambitions have mortal limits. This is undeniably true.
Thus, even if Christmas tradition be utterly banned from the face of this Earth, even if some new Herod sends out fresh minions and slays evermore innocents to prevent it, even so, even so, the Christmas Star will shine on in everlasting Eternity. And friends, that salvation is no less brilliant this evening over two millennia later than when it first shone upon the Holy Night to herald the birth of Jesus Christ…and that shall remain true whether all the Herods of Earth–past, present or future–willfully refuse its celestial guidance or not. Hallelujah.
